The Vallnord Bike Park La Massana has presented the UCI World Championships Mountain Bike and Trial that will be held in September. The presentation, which has taken place at the Teatre de les Fontetes de la Massana, in Andorra, has counted with the presence of Antoni Martí, Head of Government of Andorra; David Baró, Major Consul of the Massana, and Riart Gerard, president of the Andorran Cycling Federation. With this presentation begins the countdown for the summer biggest sporting event.
A few more than 100 days before the start of the World Championship 2015, the first provisional figures have been presented The Master World Championship, will be played from 23rd to 27th August, and will receive about 800 athletes from 25 different countries, while the Elite World Championship, from 1st to 6th of September, and will feature 1,000 athletes from 55 countries.
For the two events 309 people will be directly working with the organization and it is expected that about 300 journalists will be covering the event from Andorra. Taking as reference the Norway 2014 World Championships figures, media coverage figures are very optimistic as were broadcasted 100 hours of live and more than 380 hours pre-recorded, with an audience of 30 million in 28 countries. These figures could be very similar to those of Andorra.
The UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships will mean for Andorra over 33,500 overnight stays during the event, not counting stays that can generate viewers. In this sense, the objective is to overcome the 35,000 visitors it received during the World Cup in 2013. The estimated economic return World Championships by 2015 may exceed 7 million euros.
SPORTS DETAILS
As for sports details, remember that the modalities World Cross Country Olympic (XCO), cross country eliminator (XCE), downhill (DHI) and trial will be played.
