The 2015 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships are approaching. After the World Championships for Master categories, Vallnord (Andorra) will be the focus of fans of mountain biking and trials for an additional week, which runs from August the 31st to September the 6th. And although we are still a few months away from the event, we already have the official program for a full week of competitions where the best riders in the world will battle to get the rainbow jersey, the multicolored garment that will identify them as World Champions for a year long.
The week of the World Championships starts on August the 31st and, as days go by, the temperature in the event will rise. On Tuesday we will have the first finals of the week, with the XC Eliminator discipline, followed on Wednesday by the Team Relay, where the national teams will align their best riders per category to fight for the medals at stake. An explosive and exciting discipline, where the quality of the athletes is as important as the tactic designed by the coach of each country. Following those first two finals on Thursday it will be the time for the Junior XCO race, that will show the work done in the previous months before the competition. And we will continue, day by day, with all categories of mountain biking and trials.
But although the action is present during those seven days, it is clear that Saturday and Sunday are the most interesting days, as this is where the competitions of the Elite categories are gathered. The weekend is a finals after finals non stop, with the XCO during Saturday morning and noon, and finishing off the day with the spectacularity of the Trials discipline.
Then Sunday will be the last day, with the DH as the top event, a day where the best riders in the world will fight to be crowned as the world’s fastest in a very steep course that combines both technical and high speed sections.
