Vallnord Bike Park La Massana will host between August 23rd and September 6th the 2015 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championship. Andorra will be for two weeks the world capital of the mountain bike with the World Championship attended by the world best cyclists. 2015 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championship Master categories competition will take place between 23rd and 27th August, while the main attraction, the elite Championship will be held from August 31st to September 6th.
UCI Mountain Bike Masters World Championship are competed in the disciplines of Cross-country Olympic (XCO) and Downhill (DHI) and are open to cyclists in possession of master license even without having UCI points. The winners of each age group will be entitled to wear the mythical rainbow jersey credited until the next World Champhionship as champions of the world in its category.
The XCO of the UCI Mountain Bike World Masters Championship of Vallnord Bike Park La Massana will be competed on a technical track of 4.2 kilometers noted for its hardness and being located over 2,000 meters above sea level. The tour is located in the ski resort of Pal and improved spectacular track which hosted the World Cup 2013. The distance and the number of laps are set according to each age category.
The DHI of the UCI Mountain Bike Masters World Championship 2015 is an evolution of the downhill in the World Cup of 2013 where participants will enjoy a distance of 2.5 kilometers with a very physical top part, followed by further jumps in the intermediate part and an end more technical and rapid stretch, which has been very well received by both cyclists as the curators of the UCI.
