The Cross Country and Downhill Inspection by UCI has marked the beginning of the UCI Mountain Bike Masters World Championships of Vallnord Bike Park La Massana.
UCI Commissioners have inspected and analyzed the XCO and DHI tracks of Master categories, and have expressed their satisfaction with the quality of both courses. The Commissioners have also highlighted the great effort of the race direction and the Massana Vallnord Bike Park both in the design of the circuits and the work done to improve the safety of riders and spectators.
The President of the UCI Commissioners for the Mountain Bike Masters World Championships, the Croatian Robert Gelo, has described the track as excellent and stressed that the XCO track favor the stronger cyclists at the expense of the more technical. Gelo described as very technical and tough the downhill track, especially in the second half, and believed that to win the rainbow jersey riders will need to show a great balance between technique and endurance.
