Today we have lived the Team Relay race at Vallnord Bike Park La Massana (Andorra), with a temperature of about 16 ° and without the presence of rain.
The race started at 11 am and the first lap has been spectacular with France, Switzerland and Italy starting with the intention to open a gap right from the start, lining up 3 big names on the international scene. Viktor Koretzky is known for his initial punch and has set a high pace that only Vogel and Fontana were able to follow, with the Italian losing some time in the climbs, closing the gap on the descents and being 2nd when finishing his lap.
In the second lap, Jordan Sarrou has brough France to lead the race, a position the team has not abandoned until the finish line. Behind them, Switzerland has bet on Jolanda Neff for its second relay and that has made them go from 1st to 13th position, filling the podium Italy and Denmark, that has lined up two U23, leaving no Elite men representation in the team.
In the third relay, the three teams controlling the podium spots have opted for their women, with Annika Langvad being the fastest of the 3, 2″ ahead of Pauline Ferrand Prevot and 50″ on Eva Lechner. In the last relay, the U-23 Italian has overtaken the representative of Slovakia and has boosted the Azzurri to the bronze medal.
